In July I got in contact with Stefan Hallgren at Happy Minds through Rhonda Kelley at Rainmaker Public Relations in Boston, as she both had us in her roster. He came forward as a talented, serious guy; so I asked him if he´d consider directing my new Empty Street music video. He accepted and next I found myself spending 12 hours on a night train from Malmö to Östersund. I brought with me an enormous white gawn for the occasion, and the following weekend we went through a magic session. The video was shot in two days, partially in a studio but also on location. Stefan had found a great place for a beautiful nightshoot. The lighting equipment broke down, so we were forced to use the headlights on our car, but it only made the scen more mystic! The video "Empty street" is directed by Stefan and produced/edited by me. It is also the first single from my album Gardenia. The video "Intuition" is recorded in Färgfabriken Östersund, in Fredrik Wretmans beautiful creation "Taptim" =) It is once again a collaboration between Happy Minds and me. I can't wait til I get to edit and cut my next video, it is so much fun! I lost lot's of the out-door recordings that were meant to tell the story, so I had to rearrange this video a lot since the tape got corrupt and I had no time or chance to re-record it. Point is to visualize the feeling and the story beyond this song. It is really a letter, once written to a friend of mine. Basics: It is about drug-addict. About loosing a friend to "the dark side", but also about the struggle to keep my own mind bright and clean. Even if I do not do drugs, I've found myself chained to things at times (aka music/darkness/sorrow etc) I symbolize that with a "clean" barbie me and a dark "chained" version. Rose-bush stands for "grave/rabbit hole". The frame stands for one way communication through a screen to the person this letter is addressing. Something like that.. Here's a slide show that strumtstrummer have created for me on youtube.
Here's a live version of Gardenia, performed by Roberto Azara. This guy will also show up on some upcoming collaborations.
